HWJD?

VBC (Vacation Bible Camp) just ended a while ago, it was very tiring but it was  extremely fun and full of revelations!!!

Gabbie (my co-host): you need these HWJD bracelets!

Dave: what does an HWJD mean?

Gabbie:  it means how would Jesus drive?

Yes, how would Jesus drive?(even if there were no cars in his time)Where would he lead us?

Of course he will finish first! Of course he will finish in victory!

Good, but how will that apply in our lives? That is the real question.  He all called us to have a relationship with him, a call that means we need to have him as our Lord, and that is where things get hard. Obedience.  It is when Jesus tries to take the steering wheel from our hands, will we allow him to drive?

We sometimes ignore his call and take the wheel for ourselves, sometimes we allow him to drive but when we see that things go bad we open the door and jump out, we avoid.

‘Then he told them what they could expect for themselves: “Anyone who intends to come with me has to let me lead. You’re not in the driver’s seat—I am. Don’t run from suffering; embrace it. Follow me and I’ll show you how. Self-help is no help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, my way, to finding yourself, your true self.’ –  luke 9:23-24 (message)

I believe its hard to follow him if we don’t know him or don’t have a relationship with him.  You won’t allow just anyone to take care of something or someone very important right? Companies performs interviews, exams to see if they are qualified.  You wouldn’t open up a deep secret to anyone apart from your trusted close friends. And how much more with our lives!  We won’t trust our lives with any one.  That is where our relationship with him comes in.  Our walk with him is a top priority and it is a life long walk.

Seeing more mature Christians, it shows that our whole life time we will only know  a part of who God is so I beg to disagree to those people who claim to say: “I know God.” Being tenure in Christianity doesn’t mean total understanding of who God is. (Eph3:18), it is a life time walk of revelations, smack downs, encouragements, temporary failures, life long successes and victories!

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.” – Hebrews 12:1 (NIV)

Many people will try to take the wheel from us or we will try to take ownership of the wheel of our lives and we mostly end up in the wrong paths, we are not even sure of our future so to whom do we go then?

TO JESUS. He marked out a race in front of us, a particular purpose for our lives, a made out way that may not be appealing, unpopular, full of sacrifices and less taken.

Satan will tell us the big costs of following God but he will never tell us the bigger costs of not following him. (Paraphrased from henry Blackaby, Experiencing God).

But God promised his grace to be always upon us, his Spirit, presence, love, gifts, promises and a whole lot more that we don’t know!

I am not an expert in this field and I am in the process of learning these truths (as we all should be) and it just excites me that God continually reveals his will for us. (Eph 3:18)

Our relationship with Jesus, him being our personal Lord and Savior will cost us EVERYTHING, but the gain is EVERYTHING and ETERNAL.
