God is love and love is pain?!

Having briefly define God’s love (as if it can be defined and comprehended) from being love as God and God as [only] love, people would then ask: “If God’s love is such and such, why are there sufferings in our world?”

The problem of reconciling human suffering with the existence of a God who loves is only insoluble so long as we attach a trivial meaning to the word ‘love’ and look on things as if man were the center of them. Man is not the center. God does not exist for the sake of man. Man does not exist for his own sake.” – C.S.Lewis

You are worthy, O Lord our God,to receive glory and honor and power. For you created all things, and they exist because you created what you pleased. “ -Revelations 4:11 NLT

For in him we live and move and exist…” – acts 17:28a NLT

That’s not your life, that’s not your body that’s not your love.

…for love comes from God…” 1 John 4:7 NLT

Our egoistic altruistic love does not apply to God.

When God says he loves us, he really does love us, and wills for us to experience it and grasp it (as if indeed it can be grasped). If God’s expression does not meet our expectations, we must remember that he did not exist for us and that he knows more and that we need to adjust to Him.

And what more can we ask?

That he may understand our situation? He did and incarnated Himself.

That He may know our sufferings? He suffered and died on the cross.

That we be happy? We were happy until we rebelled against Him and now the Good News of God’s love is being told to bring us back to Him.

That he compromise and adjust to our definitions? Well then, you need a genie and not a God.

God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.” – 1 John 4:9, 10 NLT

When we want something other than the thing God wants us to be, we must be wanting what in fact, will not make us happy.” – C.S. Lewis.

He wills our love and to love Him, but to love Him is to know Him. To know Him is to know Jesus. And this is love.
