My top 10 books for 2018
Here are 10 books that I read and enjoyed this year. (Dapat 9 lang, pero hindi ko kayang magtanggal ng mga books na ito.)
After reading, share ka rin 🙂
10 – The Stars Shine Down by Sidney Sheldon
Finally reading some fiction books again and I decided to read a classic. Sidney Sheldon has always been a favorite of mine, the way he builds up his characters and sets up his plot is amazing. Kalungkot lang patay na siya 🙁

9 – Multipliers: How the Best Leaders Make Everyone Smarter by Liz Wiseman
Leadership is not being the best but by developing the people around you. This booked has taught me to identify, develop and launch the people around me (especially my team) to maximize their talent and productivity. Hindi tayo kulang sa human resources, hindi lang sila na dedevelop.

8 – Building a Story Brand by Donald Miller
Don’t sell, tell a story is the major take away for me with this book. It helped me craft my preachings, organize my presentations and improve my pitches.

7 – The Day the Revolution Began by N.T. Wright
The cross and resurrection of Christ ushered the kingdom of God. This book made me see that Christianity is not just a religion, much more than a relationship but a call to join our King in his revolution. ARRRGHHHHH!!!!! (the thickest and the hardest read of all BTW SKL)

6 – Always Be Creating by Abby Sy
Made by our very own kababayan. I read a couple of books about being creative but this for me is the most practical. After reading this book you will be left with a lot of doable action steps.

5 – Being God’s Friend by C.H. Spurgeon
Do not, do not, do not underestimate an old, small book. Written by one of the greatest preachers, this book has made me cry over and over again. What does it mean to be God’s friend? How do we become God’s friend? This cuts straight to the heart.

4 – Lean Start Up by Eric Reis
Build-measure-learn-repeat as soon as possible. That is the basic premise of the book and why that is important in a start up. The attitude of experimenting, adapting and learning are the things I got from this book.

3 – Ignore Everybody: and 39 Other Keys to Creativity by Hugh McLeod
No nonsense talk about why we should start creating and not give up. 40 reasons that sliences excuses and breaks wrong mindset about starting something. It reminded me of the childhood dreams and why those were not random things in my life. We can ask God to resurrect and redeem our childhood dreams.

2 – Small Cloud Rising: How Creatives, Dreamers, Poets and Misfits are Awakening the Ancient Future Church by Dave Gibbons
I love everything about this short book, from it’s design, story telling and the way he taught the concepts. It sparked in me the desire to see an army of creatives willing to communicate the timeless, life changing message of God to this world. Of all the books I’ve read it is only here that I saw that our suffering is acknowledged and is part of what God can use for his glory as we create.

1 – Culture Making by Andy Crouch
This book has changed my view of life, culture, creativity and redemption. God gave culture as a gift, we are called to create and cultivate but we failed when we sinned and rebelled against our Creator. But the good news is that he is out to redeem it! Culture is what we make of what he gives us, we cannot just compromise, condemn, copy or criticize culture, we are called to create and show a different way. There are so many things to discuss in this book, but I will never see Revelations, Genesis 1-3 the same way again.

How about you? What are your top books? Share naman jan!
