The Core

Remember that time when you watched a movie that was so good that you can’t wait to tweet about it? Have you ever been in a very exciting game that you can’t help but talk about it? How about that very catchy song that has been playing in our heads for days? Those things may be exciting and good but nothing comes close when it comes to the God of the bible.

The God of all universe, the God that created the heavens and earth, the God that exists even before time and is eternally existent, the God that endures every season in life, this God is the one who came to our lives, in our world. The God of all glory came in Jesus Christ.

Psalm 34:1-3 NIV
I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips. I will glory in the Lord; let the afflicted hear and rejoice. Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together.

2 Corinthians 4:6 NIVFor God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.

The glory and honor of the Lord should be our utmost desire and our deepest motivation in everything we do at all times, the core of our desires. To Glorify means to make known, to promote, to magnify and to make great. To honor means to respect, to put in a high moral standard, acknowledging the high standing of the person. To glorify and honor God means that God should be weightier in our lives. It means that God is heavier and more powerful than temptations, sinful desires, good things and even the best things in life. Nothing should come close to our God.

coreAs we go through our journey called life, let the glory and honor of God drive your life. Let our lips be filled with excitement about our God. Let our thoughts and hearts be directed to Jesus. As one, let us glorify and honor our one and true God, Jesus Christ!

“The chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy him forever”
